The Missions team desires to raise the level of awareness of God’s work in the world and to increase engagement in it. To achieve that goal, the team coordinates the support of missions in Canada and beyond, and brings regular news reports back to the congregation. We have ongoing involvement with some individuals and organizations that we support and there are also special projects that we choose to become involved with.
Outside Canada, we support the work of Samaritan’s Purse with its Operation Christmas Child Shoebox program which distributes gifts to children in underdeveloped countries throughout the world and to World Vision. Pre-Covid we aided the provision of bedkits to schoolchildren in third world countries through the efforts of Sleeping Children Around the World. Currently we also support an orphanage in Cambodia, Place of Rescue. To help reach people with the gospel in their heart languages we provide financial aid to Faith Comes By Hearing, an organization producing God’s Word in audio form in hundreds of languages, and to Literacy and Evangelism International for the development of Christian-based learning materials .
Within Canada we support the work of the Scott Mission in Toronto, Focus on the Family, an organization helping families live godly lives, Angel Tree, an outreach to children of parents who are incarcerated, and Christmas drives in King Township and in Nobleton.
