Sponsoring Children

Norma – Our Sponsored Child

Norma was born on October 5, 2002. She lives in Ecuador.

Her parents live in a poor area. Her father is self-employed but his earnings are hardly enough to provide food and clothes and shelter for his family. Her mother stays at home caring for her family. Norma has little brothers.

Norma’s family farms. They sow grain. Sometimes in Norma’s letters she says that it is raining and is very cold, in other letters she tells us that in her community they have sunny days, the crops are growing and they are waiting for rain.

When Norma was just over 4, her favorite game was “Playing Shops” and she went to church. When Norma was in grade one, her favourite subject was painting. She liked to help at home by running errands for her mother. Her favourite game was playing with dolls.

In KidzKonnection we have made a quilt for Norma that she loved very much and thanked us for. She was in Kindergarten the year we made her the quilt. We have also sent her stuffed toys, pens, pencils, note paper, crayons, hair brushes, combs, toothbrushes, tooth paste, soaps, towels, balls to play with, clothes she can wear, books about numbers, musical instruments and candies which Norma has liked a lot. She sends us letters and is always very excited to receive our gifts. Norma’s parents also thank us and say that Norma plays and shares her things with her little brothers. In Norma’s letters she says that she thanks God for all the children of St. Paul’s and the gifts they send her and that she loves them all so much.

Our most recent letter from Norma came to us last year. She goes to Unidad Educativa Alejandro Chavez School and she is very happy attending school. She wants to learn so much more at school and after that finish high school. She wants to continue to study.
